Mooring Load Monitoring System (MLMS)

The Straatman Mooring Load Monitoring System (MLMS) is an advanced solution for continuously monitoring the load on quick release hooks. Each hook is equipped with a precision load cell that accurately measures the tension on every mooring line.

Our software platform displays real-time mooring loads, logs historical data, and allows for customizable alarms. As soon as a vessel is moored, each load cell transmits its data to the system, providing a clear digital overview of every line’s load. If the load exceeds predefined limits, the system sends instant alerts to operators, ensuring prompt action and maximum safety.

Viewing and Recording Mooring Loads

The mooring loads and alarms can be monitored and recorded through multiple methods:

  • Direct display on the hook itself.
  • High-definition TFT color monitor located in the control room.
  • Integrated display within a specialized control panel, which can also support remote control functionality.
  • Integration with a Berthing Aid System (BAS) – the Mooring Load Monitoring System can seamlessly connect with a BAS, allowing all relevant data to be monitored, visualized, and stored within a single, unified system.
Installing a Mooring Load Monitoring System

The Mooring Load Monitoring System offers flexible installation options. It can be integrated directly with new quick release hook units at our manufacturing facility or retrofitted on-site to existing setups.

Designed by our expert engineers, the system is lightweight and easily transportable, eliminating the traditional need for cranes and reducing weather-related delays during installation. This streamlined approach saves time and improves efficiency.
